A guide can help assessing forest landscape restoration opportunities at the national or subnational level

A Portuguese version of the Restoration Opportunities Assessment Methodology (ROAM) Guide is now available. The guide aims to support countries seeking to move forward with developing restoration programs and landscape-level strategies. It also enables countries to define and implement pledges in accordance with international commitments that help to disseminate the forest landscape restoration (FLR) approach and bring provide key inputs to public policies.

Recent events are referring to the RPF as a widely known and important way not only to restore large-scale ecological integrity, as well as generating additional benefits at the local level and global, to leverage livelihoods, economies, fuel production and food, water security as well as climate change adaptation and mitigation.

This version of the Guide is being published in order to engage people in the learning process and improved methodology. The material includes descriptions of the components of ROAM as well as guidance on how they can be combined and sequenced to suit different needs.
